Cohen Crosby Miller - 9 months

Cohen Crosby Miller turned 9 months old a few weeks ago.  I've been meaning to do an official photo shoot but I just realized that it's not going to happen.  Life is a little bit crazy right now and to be honest, I am just in survival mode right now.  These are a few shots that I snapped the other day and I realized that they show what this little guy's life is like right now better than anything.  So here it is....Cohen Crosby at 9 months.

Brother and sister were playing dress up and Cohen was the Cowboy.  Poor guy...they kept putting his hat on crooked.

Luke Skywalker Cowboy.  In this one, Cohen is thinking, "THANK GOD.  I FINALLY caught big brother with his guard down and I get to play with the light saber.  It will only be a matter of seconds at this point before big brother discovers that little brother has confiscated his most prized possession and he will race over and rip it out of his hands which will result in a meltdown and lead to.....

Cowboy with a Pretty Pink Princess Phone.  If he can't have brother's light saber, then sister's Princess phone will do as a nice substitute until big sister realizes that he has confiscated her most prized posession and runs over to rip it out of his hands which will lead to....

Cute little drooling cowboy with NO toys.  How does the song go, "It's A Hard Knock Life."

Good thing he has a mommy who is absolutely obsessed with him and also completely empathizes with him about what a rough life it is to be the baby of the family.  He is the sweetest baby ever.  Easy going and laid back for the most part but has a bit of a temper to him as well......he pretty much smiles and laughs constantly UNTIL someone takes something away from him and then he goes into what I like to call "freak baby mode."  If he has something in his hand that he wants and you take it away from him, his face suddenly goes crazy and he just screams and starts shaking in anger.  It is actually pretty hilarious.  He has his daddy and his Granddad's baby blue eyes, the sweetest smile I have ever seen, and when I walk into the room, he squeals in excitement and crawls to me as fast as he can.  I love it.  I love him.  I am so blessed.

A few facts about Cohen at this age:
-Length is 30 inches, 95th percentile
-Weight is 23 lbs and 3 oz, 90th percentile
-Head is 18 inches, 70th percentile
-Started crawling at 8 months and you are into everything.
-Started saying and signing all done and bye-bye.
-Started really leaning and reaching for momma which I love of course! :)
-Started pulling up and standing on furniture and in his crib.  This is really fun because once he stands up in his crib he doesn't know how to get back down right now so he just screams and screams.  I have to go in twenty times and lay him back down.
-Taking a 3 to 4 hour nap in the afternoon.  THANK GOD!
-Eating solid foods: cooked peas, mixed veggies, carrots, cheese, yogurt, bananas, meat, waffles, pancakes, all kinds of stuff!
-Drooling NON STOP.  Still no teeth!

THIS ONE'S FOR YOU D-DAD!!!

I have been in big trouble from Michael's dad (D-Dad as my kids call him) for not posting enough pictures of his grandbabies on the blog lately.  He says that ever since I started taking pictures for OTHER people, there aren't enough pictures of HIS babies anymore.  So....this one is for you D-Dad!  Here are a few pics I took of Cohen Crosby yesterday morning while we had a lazy day.  That translates to "It is too freakin' cold to try to get three kids out so we are all going to lay around in our pj's all day."  Cohen turned 9 months old on Saturday and I will be doing his "official" 9 month post soon...hopefully.  We have to go to the doctor this week and get his height and weight check and I need to take a few more pictures of him first!

Super happy face.  This is the face he makes when his big brother is making him laugh.

Look at that sweet profile.  I am so in love with this little boy.

Happy 6 Month Birthday Cohen!! (And Mommy's 1st Photo Shoot)

Cohen will turn 6 months old on Saturday (September 5th). We will be in Stillwater all weekend for the football game (GO POKES!) so I thought I'd go ahead and do his 6 month post before we left. This is my first attempt at doing my kid's pictures myself....Easton and Emerson had their pictures taken professionally as newborns and again at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months. I decided I would give it a shot myself this time and it was alot of fun!!! Here is an update on what Cohen is up to these days:

1. Rolling over (front to back and back to front). He especially likes to roll over back to tummy in the middle of the night and then get really ticked off about it and scream until I come up there and help him roll back over to his back. It's alot of fun doing that several times a night! :)
2. Sitting up by himself (he started doing this about a week or 2 ago).
3. Eating baby food. He definitely prefers food to a bottle and still gives me a hard time about drinking milk. Sometimes he will go 6 to 8 hours refusing to drink a bottle. Obviously he is a chunky, healthy boy though so I try not to get too worried about it.
4. His favorite things to do are jump in his jumperoo, blow spit bubbles, and play peekaboo.
5. He is really into faces right now and grabs my face, nose, mouth, hair, etc...all the time.
He is an "on the go" little boy and does such a great job even though I know he gets tired. We are in the car everyday by 8:40 am to take brother to school. Then we are usually out and about running errands, going to Emmy's dance class, going to the grocery store, etc...until we pick Easton up at noon. After that we meet friends for lunch, head to the park, go to a playdate, or run more errands. He doesn't usually get to come home and take a good nap until the afternoon. He stays content and happy the whole time though which is a nice change since he screamed everytime you put him in the car seat for the first 3 months!

I can't believe my baby is already 6 months old. What a sweet, precious little boy. I am just trying to treasure every moment that I have with him...he is already growing up too fast!

Cohen's 3 Month Pictures

My friend Cheri, check out her website, took Cohen's 3 months pictures for us. Yes, they are a month late since he is already 4 months old now, but they still give a good idea of what the little guy is looking like now. He is absolutely precious. Definitely a little handful but I am cherishing every minute. I find myself very emotional at times. It is amazing how much he has already grown in 4 months . It is bittersweet....I want him to grow up and begin to experience this world but I also want him to stay my little baby forever. I never remember feeling this emotional about the other two "growing up" because I guess I always knew we would have more babies. With Cohen, I know there is a possibility that he could be my last (still undecided since I know everyone is wondering). I look at this picture and it makes me want to cry....the way he is gripping onto my hands for support as he stands. God has given me the most amazing opportunity to hold this little boy's hands as he walks through life. I pray that he will give me the strength to teach him to be a young man of integrity...strong yet sensitive, courageous yet compassionate, proud yet humble. I also pray that when the day comes for me to let go of his hands and allow him to walk on his own out into this world, that I will be able to let go and trust God to take care of him. Until them, I am holding onto those little hands with all my might and cherishing every moment of this little boy's life. He always clasps his little hands like this. Emerson did it too when she was little. Not sure what it is about but I think it's pretty cute.

Tummy time...not the biggest fan but he is getting better. He pretty much rolls straight onto his back anytime you put him on his tummy so he might not be crawling for quite sometime....yes, I am totally fine with that. Funny how with the first kid you want them to do everything early and with the third you are like, "PLEASE GOD, let him not crawl or walk until he's two or something." (ok so I'm exaggerating slightly but I am definitely ok with him being later on everything than Easton was.)
Sweet smile...

This is one of my favorite's....look at that sweet little face!

He loves to have someone hold his hands and let him stand up. He is so strong already...early walker like his brother perhaps??? Again, let's hope not.

I am REALLY hoping this is the one that keeps his daddy's blue eyess!
Yes, I am trouble and I know it! Can't you tell by my little smirk.
