CANCER SUCKS

Have you guys seen those car stickers that say CANCER SUCKS?  I love them.  I want one.  I think it pretty much sums it up.  CANCER SUCKS.  It takes away mothers, sisters, friends, brothers, children, grandmothers, fathers, and Grandads.  It took away our D-Dad.

Tomorrow we will have a service to celebrate his amazing life. As I laid in bed with my three year-old daughter tonight, she asked me why everyone was so sad and why everyone was crying so much.  I told her that it was because we missed D-Dad.  She quickly answered, "Mommy!!  Let me pray.  Dear Jesus: Please let us go over to Grammy J's tomorrow and say 'D-Dad!  D-Dad!  We are here!!!'  And let D-dad be there to give us lovin's."  Yes...I pretty much lost it.  How can I explain to her that he won't be there anymore?  How can I make this sweet little 3 year old girl understand that she won't see him again?  I can't.  So that is why I say, "CANCER SUCKS."

If you agree....if you or someone you know has been effected by cancer, leave me a comment and let me know that I am not the only one who thinks CANCER SUCKS.

  11. CANCER MAJOR SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both of my maternal grandparents (which are the only ones I've ever known and were very close to) had cancer before they passed. Gramma had Lymphoma and Grampa had pancreatic cancer. My cousin also had thyroid cancer, and still battles a lot of issues with his thyroid. I've been praying for you and your beautiful family. The story about Emmy made me break down because I couldn't imagine what I'd say or do or how I'd react in the same situation. Love you all!

  12. CANCER SUCKS! It took my mother-in-law from us in October. Watching her battle it for a year was horrible- she was a fighter but couldn't beat this one. Praying for you guys.

  13. Cancer Sucks is right! I have lost both of my grandparents to cancer. My husband, Brett, lost one of his college friends in May 2008. He was 33 years old and left behind a wife and 5 year old daugther. His wife and several of his friends and family now participate in the Livestrong Challenge in Austin every year. It is the Lance Armstrong foundation. Our team name is Be.Live. The name has lots of meanings...here are a few To believe they will find cures and live every minute to the fullest. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family through this hard time.

  14. Yes cancer sucks! It takes away so much. Not only does it take away those we love but it also takes layers of us. Watching someone you love suffer and wither away takes something out of you that you never get back. One consolation: the sufferings of this world give way to everlasting joy!
